Brooke Wood

Board Vice President

Brooke Wood grew up in the majestic landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, where her profound connection with the outdoors took root. Following her high school years, she moved to South Lake Tahoe, yet another outdoor oasis that she considers “home”. Here she created and operated an outdoor adventure company alongside her teaching career. In the midst of raising her family in the Sierra Nevadas, Brooke's path led her to Utah in 2018, propelled by her husband's professional pursuits.

Brooke has over 16 years of dedicated experience in education spanning grades K-6 and in higher academia. She is currently an Elementary Science Specialist in Alpine School District. Brooke has earned a B.A. in Elementary Education and M.Ed. in Educational Leadership. She is presently immersed in the pursuit of a Ph.D. in Sustainable Education, a testament to her unwavering commitment to advancing pedagogical approaches that nourish both minds and the planet.

Brooke’s passion for the outdoors and her lens of humans’ relationship with nature is an integral part of her life. She believes the best learning takes place outside the classroom and the best paths to take are covered in dirt.
