David Kimberly, Ph.D

Director

Please welcome our new director, David Kimberly (he/him/his)! David comes to us with over 15 years of teaching experience in higher education. He is currently a professor of Biology at Westminster University. David has a passion for teaching in a "Place-Based Learning" context, where questions posed can only be answered by digging into local systems. This interdisciplinary approach incorporates indigenous ways of knowing, social and political constructs, and resource management to answer challenging modern questions. David hopes to bring this experience and drive to support both formal and informal educators as they get students outside to learn about Utah's incredibly unique landscape and history. Additionally, David has a passion for chasing after our scaly, cold-blooded friends. If you ever come across a snake, send him a picture!
