Message from the Executive Director
Dear Friends of USEE,
Over the past 3 ½ years it has been both an honor and a pleasure to serve as the Executive Director for the Utah Society for Environmental Education (USEE). It is with sadness that I write to inform you that I will be leaving USEE in May and relocating to Syracuse, NY with my family.
USEE is an incredible organization made up hundreds of dedicated educators, programs and community members who are passionate about strengthening education efforts on behalf of the quality and health of our environment. I have been inspired by the tireless efforts, the general warmth, and spirit of collaboration of Utah’s environmental education community. It is your collective effort that has gained USEE national recognition as a leader in environmental education.
With that said, I want to thank you for supporting USEE’s mission to provide statewide leadership to expand the scope, quality and effectiveness of environmental education and for allowing me to work with you on behalf of this valuable effort.
To ensure that we build on our current momentum, I am pleased to announce that USEE’s Board of Directors has appointed Adrienne Cachelin, USEE’s Past President, as the Interim Executive Director while we conduct a national search to fill this position. In addition, I am committed to helping USEE with this exciting transition and will continue to support USEE and national environmental education efforts from my new home in upstate NY!
Please feel free to contact me over the next several weeks if you have any questions about this transition or the job announcement at jenv@usee.org or 801-328-1549. The job announcement is currently posted on the EE Jobs Board and will be open until filled.
I will greatly miss this amazing organization and community and look forward to watching the momentum continue from afar!
Warmest Regards,
Jennifer Tucker Visitacion
