2019 USEE EE Awards Celebration!

Congratulations to our 2019 Utah Environmental Education (EE) Award recipients who have made significant contributions to Utah’s EE community. Recipients were officially recognized at USEE’s Environmental Education Awards Celebration on August 9, 2019 at Rowland Hall.

Vern A. Fridley Environmental Educator of the Year

Awarded to an individual who has made a major contribution to EE in Utah. We have divided this into a Formal Educator and Non-Formal Educator awards.

  • Formal Environmental Educator: Wendy Roberts, DaVinci Academy

Utah Environmental Education Program of the Year | Salt Lake City Master Recycler Program

Awarded to a program that has made an impact on education about one or more aspects of the environment.

Green Business of the Year | Hello!Bulk Markets & Jamaica Trinnaman

Awarded to a for-profit organization that has made a major contribution to environmental education in Utah. This contribution may include but is not necessarily limited to directly educating the public, support for other EE initiatives, in-kind assistance, sustainable practices, employee efforts and increasing environmental awareness to the broad community.

   

 

EE Public Service Award | Representative Patrice Arent 

Awarded to an individual who has served or is serving in a governmental capacity that in the scope of their duties has rendered vital assistance or support to Utah's community of environmental educators.

Congrats to the 2019 Beehive 5 Under 25!

USEE is pleased to announce the second annual Beehive 5 Under 25 recognition program! Modeled after NAAEE's 30 Under 30, the Utah Beehive 5 Under 25 program recognizes individuals, 25 years old or younger, who are game-changers in their communities. These young people are taking on leadership positions to make a difference for the planet. They are engaging their communities, building relationships, and using the power of education to create change.
